Awards are based on residency and academic qualifications and are automatically applied.

IUPUI Indy Achieve

Indy Achieve particapants could have their remaining finanical needs covered. To qualify you must:

  • Be a Marion County (IN) resident
  • Admitted to IUPUI
  • File FAFSA before April 15th 
  • Qualify and recieve Indiana 21st Century Scholar or Frank O'Bannon Grant

IUPUI Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)

MSEP reduces out-of-state tuition to 150% of in-state tuition for students from participating states: IL, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, WI, OH

The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology offers the following scholarship opportunities to incoming Freshman

NSF Urban STEM

Deadline: March 31st

Requirements: The Urban STEM Collaborator Scholars program is for incoming freshmen who are eligible for federal financial aid as determined by the FAFSA, directly admitted to an engineering major, and will enroll in Calculus 1 (MATH 16500) in the 2019 fall semester. 

Amounts: up to $10,000 per year

FIRST Robotics

Deadline: March 1st

Requirements: Competed in FIRST, graduated from an Indiana high school or Indiana home-school, and have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.

Amounts: $4000 (1) annual scholarship for all four years (minimum high school GPA of 3.5 required)

                 $1000 (2) annual scholarships for all four years (minimum high school GPA of 3.0 required)

VEX Robotics

Deadline: March 1st

Requirements: Competed in VEX, graduated from an Indiana high school or Indiana home-school, and have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.

Amounts: $4000 (1) annual scholarship for all four years (minimum high school GPA of 3.5 required)

                 $1000 (2) annual scholarships for all four years (minimum high school GPA of 3.0 required)

PLTW – Project Lead the Way

Deadline: March 1st

Requirements: Graduate from an Indiana high school, complete PLTW classes, a minimum 3.3 high school GPA is preferred, but a 3.0 GPA and above will be considered. Students must also pursue one of the following majors:

  • Computer Engineering Technology
  • Construction Management
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Health Engineering Technology Management
  • Interior Design Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology

Amount: $2000

POWER – Preparing Outstanding Women for Engineering Roles

Requirements: Participated in POWER camp and have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5.

Scholarship Amount: $2000-$4000 depending on eligibility

Details: The Scholarship is available for all 4-years of study as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Engineering and Technology Outstanding Student Scholarship

Deadline: December 31st

Requirements: Have a minimum high school weighted GPA of 3.75, 1310 SAT or 28 ACT, and apply to the IUPUI Honor College.

Scholarship Amount: varies

Details: Preference will be given to students who have been admitted to Honors College. The Scholarship is available for all 4-years of study as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Conexus High School Intern Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st

Requirements: Participated in Conexus High School summer intern program, a minimum 3.3 high school GPA is preferred, but a 3.0 GPA and above will be considered. Students must also pursue one of the following majors:

Harry C. Schumacher and Stella O'Brien Schumacher Scholarship (for Mechanical Engineering students)

Deadline: March 15th

Requirements: The Harry C. Schumacher and Stella O'Brien Schumacher Scholarship is available for all traditional, full-time students who are admitted to IUPUI and majoring in mechanical engineering.

Amounts: $500 - $4000 depending on eligibility

Details: Preference will be given to male students who will be graduating from a Marion County public high school, but female students will also be consideredThe Scholarship is available for all 4-years of study as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Greenpower

Deadline: March 1st

Requirements: Competed in Greenpower, have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5, and plan to pursue a major in the School of Engineering and Technology.

Major-Specific Scholarships for Underrepresented Students 

Commitment to Engineering Excellence

Scholarship Amount: $2200 per academic year
Deadline: February 15th

This is a scholarship gives preference to women and minority students whose presence will enhance the learning environment through increased diversity in the School of Engineering and Technology. Students must be directly admitted to the School of Engineering and Technology in an engineering or engineering technology program. Students may re-apply for this scholarship each year. Students will also have opportunities for paid undergraduate research. Awardees required to attend workshops throughout the semester and 10 hours of service per semester. SHPE Indiana Professional Chapter Engineering Scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility and Selection criteria:

  • Hispanic or from Hispanic heritage.
  • US Citizen/Residency required.
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the scholarship. A GPA of 3.0 or better is required to be considered for an internship or co-op position with Rolls-Royce.
  • Pursuing a career in an engineering field.
  • Accepted to or enrolled in a university/college in the state of Indiana.
  • High school senior
  • Letter of recommendation from counselor, teacher, professor or member of the Hispanic community (not a family member).
  • Submit an official transcript and college acceptance letter.
