Global IT Management | CHINA | Spring
This Study Abroad opportunity is part of the CIT 49900 Global IT Citizenship course offered in Spring 2018.  Students who enroll in the course will spend a week China during their Spring Break. The purpose of this course is to study the impact of globalization on the Information Technology (IT) industry and individual employees who power IT companies. The course includes a 10-day study abroad component to China to visit a university and IT companies that work worldwide and study the history and culture of that amazing country. GO GREEN | GERMANY | Summer          
The IUPUI School of Engineering and Technology offers a 3 credit hour course titled GO GREEN, “Green Organizations: Global Responsibility for Economic and Environmental Necessity" over the summer. A portion of this three credit hour course will be taught at IUPUI (see instructor for dates) prior to a one-week portion taught in Mannheim, Germany. The class will meet at IUPUI one day in July for a final discussion and closing. This course is open to all IUPUI students. This interdisciplinary course emphasizes sustainability, globalization and German culture. Students will visit businesses, industries, municipalities and/or universities; such as, Mercedes, Roche, MVV Energie, City of Mannheim, University of Kaiserslautern, etc. to see various sustainability practices as well as, innovative technology applications in industry.  Total estimated cost: $2,965  - $3,865 + standard tuition and fees Contact Professor Pat Fox at psfox@iupui.edu for more information.

GO GREEN | FRANCE | Summer          
The IUPUI School of Engineering and Technology offers a 3 credit hour course titled GO GREEN, “Green Organizations: Global Responsibility for Economic and Environmental Necessity" over the summer. A portion of this three credit hour course will be taught at IUPUI prior to a one-week portion taught in Marseille, France (see instructor for dates). The class will meet at IUPUI one day in July for a final discussion and closing. This course is open to all IUPUI students. This interdisciplinary course emphasizes sustainability, globalization and French culture. Students will visit industries, municipalities and universities such as EDF Hydroelectric Power Station in Serre-Ponçon (largest Dam in Europe), Frioul Island (Organic Fish Farm), Solar Farm in Vinon-sur-Verdon, Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence, Polytech Marseille - Aix-Marseille Universite, etc. to see various innovative methods of technology, manufacturing, and engineering, as well as embedded sustainable practices. Architectural History | ITALY | Summer          
Students on the program must enroll in ART 21000 (History of Architecture).  This course is worth 3 credits.  The course focuses on architectural history through formal lectures, course readings, exploration of historical architectural sites, and critical reflection. This course is required for all interior design majors. The available coursework is particularly suited for, but not necessarily limited to, the following academic interests: Interior Design and Engineering and Technology. Global Design | SWAZILAND | Summer          
The IUPUI School of Engineering and Technology will offer a two-week design and construction focused study abroad program for undergraduate students in the Kingdom of Swaziland. The program will allow students to learn about and work on a building project using local and sustainable building materials and construction techniques. Students will be under supervision of Engineering Technology faculty to allow a greater understanding of architecture and construction in the Kingdom of Swaziland and the process of building a structure in a southern African country.  A few lectures will be delivered at the University of Swaziland, but the other activities will be facilitated by IUPUI faculty and our partner non-governmental organization, Give Hope, Fight Poverty. Computer Graphic Technology | POLAND | Summer          
Summer technical teaching experience in Poland for students with computer graphics experience. This is a one-month internship open to all students who have computer graphics experience and are enrolled at IUPUI, or any IU or Purdue campus. Students participate in a post-secondary technical teaching experience as laboratory tutors conducting technical demonstrations, and assist in presenting lectures with US or Polish faculty members (all instruction is delivered in English; no Polish speaking proficiency is required). Cross-Cultural Career Competencies | GERMANY (Pending Approval) | Spring
This study abroad opportunity is part of a spring course on cross-cultural career competencies.  The course is designed to help students develop cross-cultural competencies and knowledge and expose students to the cultural differences in the engineering industry.  This program incorporates company site visits in both the U.S. and Germany to enable students to compare and contrast the workplace cultures and challenges facing the global workplace. 3 credit hour class.  Total estimated cost:  $2,514 – $3,014 + standard tuition and fees. Motorsports | UNITED KINGDOM | Summer          
This is a multidisciplinary course emphasizing motorsports engineering, globalization of racing, and English Culture.  This course will look at the success of racing in the United Kingdom with an emphasis on the Motorsports Valley region of the UK, compare and contrast the ingenuity of motorsports engineers in the UK (i.e Formula One) and motorsports engineers in the US (i.e. Indy Car and NASCAR). Pre and Post departure classes with the trip to the UK during Summer 2, 2017- MSTE 29900- 2 credit hour class. Total estimated cost: $2,500 + standard tuition and fees Contact Andy Borme aborme@iupui.edu or Terri Talbert-Hatch talbert@iupui.edu for more information.

Engineering Semester at Heilbronn University | GERMANY | Spring
Students will be registered full-time at IUPUI during their spring semester abroad (early March-mid July) and will earn 12 credits for the program. In general, students will be taking 9 credits in engineering and 3 credits in German. Housing will be in the University dorm or in a private room. Students must complete one 300-level German course plus several upper-level course in their engineering curriculum. Engineering Semester Internship at Heilbronn University | GERMANY | Spring/Fall/Summer
Students will be registered at IUPUI during their internship and earn 6 credits in GER-G 493 (Internship in German) and 2 credits in Technical Electives in Engineering (ME-C 184 & ME-C 284 or ECE-I 199 & ECE-I 299).  Enrollment in GER-G 493 will put students into full-time status at IUPUI. Students will be submitting bi-weekly logs in German via e-mail to the German Program Coordinator. Internship students will be required to submit a cultural report in German and a work report in English. In order to receive technical elective credits for engineering, students have to write a report and/or make a presentation to the MEE or ECE department. Students will also receive an evaluation by their internship supervisor. Student must be enrolled in the Dual Degree Program for International Engineering. Student must have completed at least one 300-level German course, plus several upper-level courses in their respective engineering curriculum. Student must be in their fourth year of study in the Dual Degree Program for International Engineers. Students may stay in a dorm or a private room. Summer Internship Program | GERMANY | Summer
Students will participate in an 8 week, full-time internship placement. The program is part of an exchange between IUPUI and the Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg. Some internships may provide a stipend to the student. Students must enroll in an ENGR or TECH internship course (20010, 25010, or 30010 for 1 – 3 credits) and complete an internship report.  Please contact Jennifer Williams (jlw25@iupui.edu) to determine which course you need to be registered into, and to receive permission to register. Credit may count toward an elective in Technology, depending on the student's major. There is an optional 1-3 credits in GER-G 493 (Internship in German) through the Department of World Languages and Cultures.  To be eligible for this option, students must have completed first year college-level German and be given approval by Professor Claudia Grossman (cgrossma@iupui.edu). Internship dates are unique to each placement but typically occur between mid-May - early August.
